EVOLVE PHYSIO
My practice centres on long lasting recovery, prevention, and optimisation of performance, through a patient-centred, collaborative approach, integrating the entire body from a whole person perspective.
Using a strong clinical reasoning framework based on clinical expertise and contemporary research evidence, I go beyond diagnosis to identify and target underlying root causes for each individual. My expertise lies in conditions of the pelvis, hip, back, shoulder and neck, and in post concussion care and headache.
I have witnessed great success in empowering individuals to be confident, active participants in their recovery and prevention programs, and I am passionate about instilling patients’ self-efficacy by taking time to share clinical knowledge, reliable information sources, and expertise.
I obtained my physiotherapy degree from the University of Sydney in 1994, having initially been drawn to the profession through my personal experience recovering from injuries sustained in dance and sport. I certified as a Clinical Pilates Practitioner in 2003, completing the Australian Pilates Method Association’s two year qualification, and subsequent Specialist Certification in pre and post natal Pilates (The Center for Women’s Fitness). In addition to being an ISM graduate, I am a member of Australian physiotherapist Dr Alison Grimaldi’s Hip Academy and Hip Pain Help groups. I worked alongside and was mentored for many years by Dr Barbara Hungerford, Australian physiotherapist and pioneer of research and treatment techniques in the field of the spine and pelvis.
During my 25-plus years of clinical practice in both Sydney and London, I have worked alongside leaders in the fields of physiotherapy and medicine as a musculoskeletal physiotherapy consultant, founded and sold a physiotherapy private practice in Sydney, and consulted for professional sporting teams and dance companies in Australia. I also teach postgraduate courses for physiotherapists.
