Family Physiotherapy
Darryl graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours degree in Physiology in 1999. He then continued his studies at the University of Toronto and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. He is currently the Chair of the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (Ontario Section) and is an Advanced Practice Provider with the Rapid Access Clinics for Low back Pain (previously the ISAEC program) offered through the Ministry of Health.
In 2005 Darryl completed both his Intermediate Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Darryl continues to further his clinical knowledge with post graduate courses. Some of these include:
- Exercise theory
- Medical acupuncture
- Dry needling (IMS)
- Advanced spinal manipulation
- Advanced shoulder rehabilitation techniques,
- Myofascial release
- Nerve mobilization
- Craniosacral Therapy
Darryl is a senior instructor in the Advanced Integrative Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy Program courses offered through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. These courses are offered to physiotherapists and teach advanced theory and practical assessment techniques, manual therapy, spinal and peripheral manipulation and clinical reasoning. In addition to teaching formal courses, Darryl is also registered as a mentor with the Orthopaedic Division and is involved with staff mentoring at his clinics.
Darryl currently practices at Family Physiotherapy in Markham, Ontario. In his practice Darryl attempts to blend the use of manual therapy techniques with patient specific exercise programs and education in the treatment of patients with all orthopaedic conditions to help them achieve their goals.
