Miwako Ishii
Tokyo, Japan

Miwako Ishii graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan College in 1994 and started her professional career as a physiotherapist at Eisei clinic in Tokyo. She worked in the field of orthopedics for 10 years, mostly patients with spinal disorders. She put her energy into researching 3D motion analysis of those patients and in 2005 received a master’s degree in Health Science from International University of Health and Welfare in Japan. She noticed that many of her female patients with lumobpelvic pain  also experienced urinary leakage, pelvic organ prolapse and/or constipation. Her journey and interest in women’s health care started from there. In order to further her career, Miwako moved to PhysioCenter, and in 2009 she founded Physiolink, a private practice, in Tokyo. She has completed the Series of the Integrated Systems Model approach, vascular drainage technique (DVTM by Jack de Mica) and visceral manipulation (VM1-4 with Barral Institute). Miwako enjoys assisting and encouraging people and their lives through her work. Particularly, she recently is passionate about treating women who have concerns in their bodies.

Note from Diane: Miwako has hosted my courses in Japan for over 10 years and continues to provide opportunities for Japanese physiotherapists to learn and understand the Integrated Systems Model.  It is always a pleasure to teach for Miwako and Physiolink and have her capable assistance both in Japan and abroad.
