About This Course
This is a 3-day highly practical course unique for Denver in that it will have additional contributions from Dawn Sandalcidi (Rocabado certified PT) and Gail Wetzler (Curriculum Director Barral Institute). Our intention is to integrate, collaborate and learn together! The 3 day outline is as follows:
Day 1 8:30 – 4:30
ISM Update with Diane Lee: Understanding the new concept of Functional Units and how this expedites finding the relationships between drivers in different regions (trunk vs head/neck vs extremities). No more laundry list of 12 findings to play off one another – that’s exhausting! This day will also address your wish list that you advise when you register for this course.
Day 2 morning 8:30 – 12:30
Dawn Sandalcidi: “Under Pressure”: Implications of Adverse Pressure on Function.
Clinical case studies across the age span (paediatrics to geriatrics) where adverse pressure has caused or been the result of sub-optimal function of the glottis, diaphragm and/or pelvic floor and more!
Day 2 afternoon 1:30 – 4:30
Have you ever wanted to see Master clinicians assess the same patient from two so-called different approaches? This will happen! Gregg and Vicki Johnson from the Institute of Physical Art will be attending this update and this is where we will put them to work. One patient, 3 master clinicians assessing, discussing findings and what they mean for deciding on how to treat. Watch Diane, Gregg and Vicki integrate IPA and ISM all afternoon.
Day 3 8:30 – 4:00
Gail Wetzler: The Inner Dimensions of the Human Cranium. Gail will cover the principles of neurodynamics, meningeal and brain restrictions and how this affects a cranial driver.
Diane will close the course (4:30pm)
Brent Yamashita will be with us to assist on the ISM portions of the course.
If you have not done a current ISM Series, once registered you will have full access to all of the current updated ISM Series online video support in a course package titles ISM Series Update. Go to Courses under your profile to find this online prep. Completion of this is the first part towards ISM certification.
If you have done a current ISM Series (2015 to present) to prepare for your update course, go to your Courses under your profile and review any or all of the new material that is there since you did the ISM Series – it updates every year! Open each prep and support course and look for any video that is not ticked – it will be new for you!
