Calvin graduated with his Master of Physical Therapy in 2010, prior to this he graduated with his Bachelors of Kinesiology from McMaster University.
During his time at McMaster Calvin worked with various varsity teams including tennis, squash, badminton and volleyball providing field-side coverage for practices, games and tournaments.
Calvin decided to develop his skills in orthopaedic practice and has had the pleasure of working alongside many skilled physiotherapists in Ontario and BC. His ongoing desire to improve his skills has led him to pursue post-graduate training in orthopaedic manual therapy. He received his Graduate Certificate in Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy from UBC and he is a certified fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). In addition, Calvin has been trained in IMS/dry needling, as well as numerous myofascial release, craniosacral and exercise rehabilitation courses. Calvin has also completed courses in The Integrated Systems Model (ISM), this whole-body integrated approach has allowed Calvin to help everyone from competitive and recreational athletes to those with motor-vehicle accident injuries.
He is particularly interested in applying the ISM approach to helping men with pelvic pain, bowel and bladder incontinence, and sexual dysfunction. Calvin has taken specialized courses in the specific assessment and treatment of the male pelvic floor and is equipped to assist with male pelvic health issues. Calvin is now a senior assistant for Diane’s clinical mentorship course – The Series – The Integrated Systems Model.
