Leigh Fortuna

Leigh graduated from UBC in 2005, and spent almost 10 years working with patients with chronic pain as part of an interdisciplinary team.  She joined Diane Lee & Associates in 2017. Leigh was first exposed to the Integrated Systems Model in 2009 and did a few short courses with Diane Lee over the next couple of years.  Inspired to change her career path and approach with patients, she completed the Series in 2017 and now uses this approach to integrate orthopaedics, acupuncture/dry needling, women’s health and pain management skills and techniques.

David Emsley

David Emsley David graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh with a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2003, this followed on from his BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Birmingham University. His learning journey lead him to completing the Sports Pelvis course and the Sports Thorax course prior to completing the ISM Series in 2009. He has had the pleasure of assisting Diane on courses including the ISM Series and various short courses in the UK on several occasions since. He is passionate about learning about the body as well as passing on knowledge gained in integrating the approach over several years of practice. His indulgence in all sports has been tempered recently by the arrival of young family members, but he still tries to find time for squash, tennis and general fitness.

Simon Greene

Simon Greene Simon brings a wealth of knowledge from his work and life experiences in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. He graduated with honours with a Bachelor of Podiatry Degree from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2000.  He then returned to university in 2002 and also graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy. He has successfully merged his Podiatry and Physiotherapy into his work practices in Dublin, and highlights his passion for physiotherapy by regularly assisting on ISM courses in Ireland and the UK. Simon has a great interest in current and new practices within the area of health and wellbeing and thus can appreciate the importance of updating knowledge and skills through CPD on a regular basis. Brent Yamashita

Brent Yamashita, PT, MPT, CFMT, FFMT, FAAOMPT Brent Yamashita earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from California State University of Fresno in 1997.  He is Certified in Functional Manual Therapy through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.  He has taken an eclectic approach to PT and an abundance of continuing education, with the hopes that this wealth and variety of learning may benefit that “one” patient.  His patients include professional dancers, snow sport enthusiasts ranging from youth to the Olympic development levels, high school to 80 year old athletes, those with chronic pain, and those that want to improve their posture, function, and quality of life. Kjersti Malinsky

Kjersti Malinski is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Master of Physical Therapy program. Kjersti is a lifelong fitness enthusiast who enjoys training for marathons, swimming, road biking and hiking. She strives to help others find their passion for physical activity by volunteering as a pace group leader for half marathon training clinics. Kjersti’s ultimate goal is to help others get involved and stay involved in physical activity. Kjersti’s treatment philosophy is to maintain a balance of fun, variety and patient-focused goals in rehabilitation. She has completed STOTT and Balanced Body Pilates courses as well as advanced training in the Orthopedics, manual therapy and women’s health. Calvin Wong

Calvin graduated with his Bachelors of Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2008. During his time at McMaster, Calvin worked with various varsity teams including tennis, squash, badminton and volleyball providing field-side coverage for practices, games and tournaments. He went on to pursue his physical therapy degree, and in 2010 Calvin graduated with his Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. Since graduating, Calvin decided to cultivate his skills in orthopedic practice and has pursued post-graduate training with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, Gunn IMS, and the Upledger Institute for CranioSacral techniques. Calvin has also completed his Graduate Certificate in Manual Therapy at the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Dustin Palsson

Starting her journey at the University of Winnipeg, Dustin completed a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, and then moved to Ottawa to complete a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa. During her last year, she participated in an internship at NeuroGym Rehabilitation which ignited her passion for helping others achieve their best potential in ways not traditionally thought possible. Dustin completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University, and then returned to Ottawa to work in orthopaedic private practice. Dustin believes strongly in patient centered care and listening attentively to patients concerns.
